Family Protection Endorsement
Examples of the most commonly applied endorsements
O.P.C.F. #5 Permission to Rent or Lease Automobiles and Extending Coverage to the Specified Lessee
This gives permission to the Lessor for the automobile to be rented or leased to the Lessee.
O.P.C.F. #6A Permission to Carry Paying Passengers
This gives permission to the insured to use the automobile to carry passengers for compensation.
O.P.C.F. #16 & 17 Suspension of Coverage and Reinstatement of Coverage
These provide for the suspension and later reinstatement of coverage in the event the described automobile is laid up for a period of not less than 45 days. The advantage of the O.P.C.F. #16 over the normal deletion of coverage is that the policy continues to provide certain third party liability, accident benefits and uninsured automobile coverage while the described automobile is in storage.
O.P.C.F. #19 Limiting the Amount Paid for Loss or Damage Coverage
This form limits the amount payable to the actual cash value or the amount
stated on the form, whichever is less.
O.P.C.F. #19A Agreed Value of Automobiles
This form provides coverage for an automobile on a stated value basis.
Professional appraisals are required to substantiate the value.
O.P.C.F. #20 Coverage for Transportation Replacement
Reimburses the Insured up to the limit shown on the form for expenses
incurred in the procuring alternate transportation while the insured
automobile is laid up as a result of an All Perils, Collision,
Comprehensive, or Specified Perils claim.
O.P.C.F. #27 Liability for Damage to Non-Owned Automobiles
This endorsement provides coverage when insured Persons Drive Other
Automobiles which they may be responsible for under contract.
O.P.C.F. #28A Excluded Driver
By this form, an insurer is not liable to anyone for loss or damage that
occurs while the excluded driver is using or operating the automobile,
except as provided under the Accident Benefits Schedule.
O.P.C.F. #37 Limitation for Automobile Electronic Accessories and Equipment
By this form, non-factory installed sound equipment and electronic
communications equipment losses caused by theft or attempted theft are
limited to a maximum of $1500. As of January 1st 2001 this endorsement is
included automatically on all policies.
O.P.C.F. #43 & 43A Removing Depreciation Deduction for Owners and Lessee (respectively)
By this form, depreciation is waived with exception to tires, batteries,
and betterment resulting from the necessary repair or replacement of parts
having prior unrepaired damage, if the Insured/Lessee is the original
Owner/Lessee of the automobile and if the loss or damage occurs within 24
months of the original delivery date.
